As of last night, Penny can say the two words which are the requirement for true participation in the Terrible Twos:

"MINE!" and "NO!"

Let the games begin.

Today... I am not looking forward to today.

See, I'm a Quality Assurance manager. I oversee product evaluation, and I perform process evaluations.

And I have only on-the-job training. Nothing formal whatsoever.

Coordinating the SCAMPI taught me a lot about what I should be looking for, but it doesn't count as real training, because it was an audit, so everything I learned was very much sink-or-swim. Which suffices for keeping your head above water, but it doesn't really help you learn to move efficiently.

I think I've stretched that metaphor about as far as it will go, don't you?

Anyway, I'm finally taking the "Advanced QA" class today. I should've taken it a couple of years ago, but it didn't exist a couple of years ago. The good news is that I can take it from the comfort of my own office, via phone and Netmeeting, rather than having to get up early and drive up to DC to sit in a classroom all day.

The bad news is that it's still an all-day class. 9:30 to 4:30. (With a break for lunch, of course.)

And while I hope that it's a good class, with information that I need and can use... I'm kind of afraid that it will turn out to be the stuff that I've figured out for myself over the last two years, and that it will be the most boring and tedious day I've had in a long time.

Oh, well. Here's hoping.
