Found my camera cable! So, as promised - a picture of Penny in the kitchen ballpit:

How better to start the day than with a cute picture?

Work was pretty busy yesterday, but I'm actually not complaining. When I looked at my schedule for the week, it looked fairly clear, except that there was one little nitnoid document due out each day. I almost never get the nitnoid documents until the day they're due to go out, so I was anticipating one little dork document a day, all week.

But instead I got three of them, bam bam bam. So they're all done and out of the way. And I sat in on the world's shortest code review, and did a write-up of that, which is good. And I got some stuff done on the long-term project, which is better.

And it's nice that all that happened on a Monday, because the Monday Morning Manager's Meeting almost always takes an hour and a half and invariably leaves me feeling like the whole morning's been wasted, so it was good that the rest of the day was surprisingly productive.

Which means I'll have a somewhat more relaxed rest of the week.

I hope. Knock on wood, and all that.

I'm going to go shopping this weekend. It has been decided.

My first impetus was a discussion with K.T., wherein she showed me the new sandals she bought. (Well, she sent me a link.) They're not quite my style, but they're cute, and the site she sent me to had several other styles that I thought were quite adorable.

I sighed that I can't wear sandles anymore - well, I have some specially-made sandals, but they're birkenstocks, and therefore too ugly to want to wear outside the house. (Also, they're seven years old and starting to look a little worse for wear.)

But K.T. said that there was some arch support built into her sandals - not what I usually have, mind you, as arch supports built into shoes is typically rubber or even just foam, and not nearly strong enough for my flat feet, but it's better than nothing.

And I started thinking... I spend most of my workday sitting down, anyway. And I need to replace the cheapie loafers that I adored before Penny was born, because my feet changed shape with the pregnancy, and those loafers no longer fit me.

So I'm going shoe-shopping this weekend. We'll drop Penny off with my parents, and Matt can decide whether he wants to come along or not (though if I was him, I'd probably pick not, unless he wants to take the opportunity to do some other shopping of his own). And since I hardly ever go to the mall anyway (mostly because their parking lot is a nightmare) maybe I'll do some other shopping while I'm there. Bath and Body Works doesn't have nearly enough of my money, yet, for instance.

...

How pitiful is it that the only thing I have to talk about is shoe-shopping? Which, I might add, I usually hate doing?
