So I scrapbooked yesterday after work. It's a bit too early to start working on the albums I'm going to make for Christmas, so instead I started on my "college" album. Item 1: Sort the pictures.

Scrapbooking from a limited number of pictures you already have is kind of different from scrapbooking when you can pick and choose from a huge library of digital pictures.

You'd think it would be more limiting, but actually, it wasn't. I sorted my pictures into various categories, and then trimmed out the blurry/unflattering/redundant pictures from each group. I tossed a whole stack of pictures of people who were only friends-by-proxy, especially the ones whose names I couldn't remember.

What I was left with were a bunch of category groups, most of which would fit on just a page or two each. Voila! My page themes are chosen for me!

I also had a pad of stickynotes with me, and every time looking at a picture called up a specific memory, I jotted a couple of notes on the sticky and put it on the picture. So the "journalling" shouldn't be too hard, either.

I'm kind of looking forward to how this turns out, now.

I'm also kind of looking forward to having another album of my own. I mean, I've made eight scrapbooks in the last year or so (the wedding album isn't shown, yet) and all but two of them were gifts for other people.

Penny woke up at 5:45 this morning. After a good month of sleeping until 6:15 or later, that was a disappointment.

I left her in her crib, with the light on and a book to look at, and went back to bed. I didn't expect her to quiet down, but with her door and ours closed, I actually was able to doze off for a few minutes until the alarm went off.

I'm still a little muzzy-headed this morning, though. It might be a coffee day.
