If there's cheese in the middle of two slices of bread
It's between! (Hey!) Between! And if you look both left and right and see monster's heads You're between! (Ahbudee!) Between! (Ahbudah!) If there's Snuffy on one side, and Big Bird on the other Right there in the middle is right between, brother! Between! Between! A dinger ahead and two honkers behind That's between! Between! If there's a cookie on one side, bet you're gonna find You're between! Between! Whenever this is on that side, and that is on this Right where you are is right between, sis! Between! Between! Between! This is the song that was stuck in my head all night. Every time I woke up a little bit to roll over? Between! When Penny woke up at 5:30 crying for Daddy and I went to the bathroom? Between! I've been watching way too much Sesame Street. My only consolation is knowing that now it will be stuck in Matt's head, too. So much for losing, or even maintaining my weight this fall. I've gained almost three pounds in the last month. And I've got a birthday lunch and a birthday party tomorrow. And there's an office picnic (well, deck party) in two weeks. Two weeks after that is Jess's birthday party. And one week later is Hallowe'en. And ten days after that is my birthday. And two weeks after that is Thanksgiving and Matt's birthday all in the same long weekend. I think I have to get serious about sticking to the diet between (Between!) events. And since I've been extremely not serious about it the last month, I think this Sunday at the grocery store, I need to be ready to go all the way back to the strict phase, with the soup for lunch and the carefully-regulated snacks. Bleah. On the other hand, I did find a really nice website last night, dealing with the removal of cruft from your home and your life. Every time I look around our house, lately, it seems we've got about three times more stuff than we need, or even want. It feels cluttered, and for the last year or so, it's really gotten on my nerves. It's bad news when packrats marry, let me tell you. So I may celebrate this Discardia by packing up a bag or two of books to take to the library. It's not much, but it's a start. |
