I had a good birthday, yes indeedy.

Becky had not only put the sign up on my office door, but made cupcakes. Breakfast of champions!

And the weather was perfect. And I had fun opening Karen's present. (More scrapbooking stuff -- it's a good thing I'm planning to get together with Elizabeth to scrapbook this weekend, or I might actually burst from the need to play with all these new toys!)

Time to clean up my wishlist, I guess!

The best present of all, of course, was Penny spontaneously flinging her little arms wide open and giving me a huge hug.

I have to say that; it's in the mom contract.

Today promises to be fairly busy at work; there are four status reports, a site survey, and a project plan due out the door. Naturally, only one of them has actually crossed my desk yet. Also, I have a conference call and a working meeting with the CM Manager this afternoon.

The good news is, I'm not working tomorrow. I was originally going to take my birthday off, but Penny's daycare is having a "staff training day" tomorrow, so I moved my day off. I figure we'll hang out at the house for a couple of hours, then go down to my folks' and play with Grandma. Then I'll leave Penny with my mom while I meet Sam for lunch, and then probably take Penny home for a nap, unless my mom manages to get her to take one. Which I doubt.

And then it'll just be a couple of hours until Matt gets home.

And here we go into the season of busy weekends. I'm flipping through my calendar, and it's going to be a full month before we have a weekend that we don't already have something planned -- and I expect something to fill that slot pretty quick.

And we really need to start our Christmas planning, too.

Busybusybusy! I just hope I can catch the Christmas spirit, this year.
