27 March 2006

Not the most auspicious of mornings. I woke up with a severe crick in my shoulder and neck that makes lifting my arm or turning my head next to impossible. And Penny was cranky and bratly all morning. My boss is back in town this week, so I'll have to stay away from irc except at lunchtime (emails and phone messages welcomed enthusiastically). I think I'm going to have to take the minutes at today's manager meeting, because the two people who usually do it are both out, and I have a meeting scheduled for this afternoon that will probably eat up the entire afternoon -- between that and the manager meeting, I don't anticipate getting a damned thing done today.

But Matt is coming home on Friday, so it's impossible for me to be too surly.

The weekend was good, though. Our next-door neighbors came over Friday evening for a while, and Penny and Ray seemed to have a really good time playing together.

Saturday, I took Penny down to my parents' after her nap, and she was extra-good all afternoon and evening. I helped Mom get all her pictures off her camera and onto the computer (yay, iPhoto) and I even got a little bit of scrapbooking done!

Sunday we had dinner at John and Sam's new house, which is really quite nice. It still smells of dog, a bit (the woman they bought the house from was a breeder, and had more than a dozen dogs living there), but they think that'll clear up when they replace the carpet. And their backyard is really fantastic. Penny was fascinated by Lik-lik (their betta fish) and had a great time running around and exploring.

All in all, a nice weekend. Next weekend will be even better, though.
