3 April 2006

Gerk. I left my thumb drive at home. The thumb drive is where I keep my templates for this journal, and the program I use to chat, and all my writing files. In short -- everything I do at work that isn't directly work-related.

Oops. Well, I guess if the day is running slow, I'll have time to run home for it, and if it's a busy day, I won't need it. Or maybe I can sweet-talk Matt into bringing it to me while he's out and about running errands.

Which, of course, was the weekend's big event: Matt's home!

We made a celebration of it, of course. I got him some chocolates as a welcome-back gift (the Pepperidge Farm outlet near us stocks Godiva. I got 1.5lbs of Godiva chocolate for $20. It's sort of astonishing that I'm not the size of a small house.) and we had pancakes for breakfast and then went to the movies on Saturday.

Sunday afternoon, Matt took Penny to the park while I went to Target to do some shopping, and afterwards we all went to the Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream.

The weather could not have been more perfect, too -- high 70s and low 80s all weekend, fairly low humidity, sunshine and fluffy white clouds. A really nice welcome for Matt.

Penny, of course, is over the moon at having her Daddy home again. I'm pretty pleased about it, myself.

Back on the diet today, though -- after a weekend of chocolate and ice cream and pizza and popcorn, I need to undo some damage before the scrapbooking weekend, which starts Friday.

Looking forward to that immensely, of course. I've sworn that I'm going to relax and enjoy the weekend and not worry about schedules or anything like that. Which, of course, means that if I try really hard, I'll only be a little neurotic about it.

And I'm still trying to figure out what sort of food I want to sign up to bring. Ah, well, I'll figure something out. K.T.'s babysitter isn't arriving until after noon on Friday, so I can do some shopping that morning, if I need to.
