Yesterday, I found myself... in the twilight zone.

I went over to the Triple-A office to have my passport pictures taken. I shelled out my $5.25, and sat in the chair and adjusted my glasses so the flash wouldn't reflect off them too much, and wandered around looking at travel posters while they developed and printed and punched, and...

[insert eerie music here]

...they actually look kind of nice.

I'm not sure that's allowed.

So last night after dinner, Matt took Penny outside and she wound up playing with next-door neighbor Ray, who was home for all of a couple of hours after their Easter trip before leaving to spend a week with his dad. They did lots of running and throwing Penny's ball (though not at each other, just at random spots on the ground) and riding Ray's rider toys.

Penny decided to get smart and lean forward on the bike, and the little basket popped off and she tumbled to the ground and scraped her chin rather badly.

She started crying, and Matt picked her up, and she started crying harder, and when he saw she was bleeding, he took her inside to clean her off.

They were back a minute or so later. "She was crying," Matt told us, "because I wouldn't let her get back on the bike."

Today is Matt's last day at Maximus. They're throwing a farewell lunch for him (jokes were made, as they just threw him a welcome-back lunch) and I was even invited!

Tomorrow we're going down to Chesapeake to celebrate K.T. and Kevin's birthdays.

And Sunday we're having dinner with the Brandts to celebrate Matt's new job at Braz's office.

(I saw Jeremy yesterday when I stopped by their office to drop off some books for Elizabeth, and he said, "I really don't think GuideStar knows what they're getting into." I could only agree.)

So it should be a fun weekend. Busybusy, but fun.

I will, of course, take pictures.
