Weekend. I'm just positive there was a weekend in there somewhere.

It doesn't seem quite fair, because we visited my folks, and the Hickseses came over for a couple of hours, and we played outside in the street with the neighborhood kids, and did laundry, and about three loads of dishes, and I cooked up and diced about eight pounds of chicken to freeze so I have pre-cooked chicken for quick and easy meals (this is a new thing; I'm waiting to see how it works out), and we went shopping and bought junk food and introduced Penny to beef jerky and drew pictures and...

I spent the whole weekend half-asleep and wanting to fall into bed for most of a day.

I think I've about nailed it down to lack of exercise. When Dad was working just across the circle from me, we walked at least two or three times a week. It wasn't power walking, just a regular old stroll. But it was being up and moving and making my blood just a bit less sluggish in my veins.

I think my body is missing it, and it's responding by shutting down. My metabolism has never been exactly fast, but it's now the biological equivalent of a little old lady who only drives to church on Sundays. In reverse.

So I'm giving some thought to going to the local Jazzercise shop. Elizabeth has been going there for a while and really enjoys it, and she's encouraged me to give it a try on more than one occasion. Having a friend to meet up with would make it that much more likely that I'd actually go, too.

So we'll see what happens with that. I might just be full of hot air.

Tangled Web is almost done! I finished the last chapter on Friday, and now I just have to do the epilogue before I get into the revisions!

I'm very excited about this. That'll be two fairly long projects I've finished entirely by myself.

But it's looking like my "preferred" format is long novella/short novel, since both of my finished projects weigh in at just about 50,000 words.

I'm already starting to wonder what the next project will be, but I'm not dumping a lot of energy into it. I expect both Tangled Web and Willow Bough could use a thorough polishing, and if they're going to stand alone, then I know they both need a little bit more background exposition somewhere.

And heck, I could probably use a break. Or spend some time doing, y'know... my actual job.
