22 June 2006

This'll have to be quickquickquick. I've got an auditor (one of my very many "matrix supervisors" coming down from our DC office to do a policy audit today, and I'm his primary contact here in this office, so all but about two hours today are going to be spent in his company. Whee.

He's a nice guy, but I'm glad we only do this once a year.

And the agenda is especially crowded this trip. From 8-11, we'll be working on our local processes, that he promised to help me bring up to speed. From 11-12, I'm on a conference call and he's working with our CM manager. Then we'll go to lunch and probably talk work the whole time. After lunch, there's a local meeting that I'm the lead for and he wants to sit in on. And then we'll go over some other audit stuff until 3:30 or 4, when he'll go spend half an hour or so with my boss, and then I'll get to go home. It's a good thing there's nothing else on my schedule for today.

After all my worrying and feeling guilty, I got home last night and Penny was being good and adorable and sweet. She was a little whiny when she first woke up this morning, but I think that's because I went into her room as soon as I heard her talking instead of giving her a few minutes to wake up.

Once she was up, she was... mostly good. A little laggy on doing what we told her, but not to the extent she was yesterday. Just the usual dragging and distractability.

So at least today's starting off much better than yesterday.

Which is good, because I just realized that the lunch bag I left at home because I already know I'm going out for lunch also contained my breakfast. Oops. Ah, well.

Anyway, I need to go get things set up for the visitor. I'll be back online after work.
