3 July 2006

This should be an interesting day.

My boss is on vacation this week. And all the other managers are taking the day off, to make a long weekend out of tomorrow's holiday.

Yep, I'm the ranking manager in the building.

Not that there'll be anyone here for me to manage. I think the last count was... fifteen people, out of an office of fortyish.

So mostly it promises to be a slow day.

I'm all right with that. We had a good weekend, but it disappeared way too fast.

For a change, we didn't have anything big to do. We stayed home (aside from running errands) and spent some time in Penny's swimming pool. On the spur of the moment, we had Melissa and Ray over for dinner on Saturday.

That's about it. It was nice to sort of loaf around the house and just play with Penny -- and she was not too Two this weekend, which was good -- but somehow it sort of poofed and disappeared before we really got a chance to relax into it.

I expect this week will poof pretty quickly, too, actually.

Today will be a slack day at work, and then tomorrow is the Fourth. We're going to my parents' for dinner -- BLTs and corn on the cob and watermelon for dessert.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly normal work days, and then I'm taking Friday off, along with next Monday, for this year's Summer Bash.

Have a good Fourth of July! (Even if you're not American.)
