12 July 2006

Yesterday was actually a fairly good day. Busy at work, but that's a good thing, especially when I'm trying to stick to the diet. But then I left, and I picked up my new glasses (yay!) and then I picked Penny up since Matt had a work thingy after work yesterday. Penny was adorable and fun and funny for pretty much the whole evening, so we had a good time.

She was funny in the tub, too. She turned her stacking cups over and informed me that they were birthday cakes. She sang Happy Birthday to Daddy (who wasn't home yet) and then we pretended to eat the cake. And she said, "You want more, Mommy? Say please!"

Matt did come home in time to help put her to bed. (I had a suspicion he would.) Just as he was taking her upstairs, while I was in the shower, she asked him if she could "go say love-you Mommy?" Let me tell you, this is not the sort of request that we refuse, in our house. So they cracked the door to the bathroom, and when I peered out from behind the shower curtain, Penny said, "I love you, Mommy," and then I got her all wet because of course I had to give her a hug and a kiss.

There's some sort of meeting in the office today. Which I'm hoping means I'll be able to close my door and do some work. I actually have a fair amount to get done, and naturally, a fair amount more backed up when I took two days off.

But I really do need to walk today, since I'm not going to be able to make it to Jazzercise. Matt's office is having their summer picnic tonight after work, so we'll be going to that.

Tomorrow after work is the Summer Bash cookout. I'm looking forward to that.

And yesterday I got the pictures I ordered last week, so I can start working on scrapbook projects again. Next up: May and June pages for the family album, and then I'll get started on my high school album. Not this weekend, but next, I'm going with K.T. and Elizabeth to an all-day scrapbooky thing. I'll want to do the school album at that, because it'll mean I don't have to take my whole collection of papers with me, just the school colors.

I'm sure if I worked at it harder, this could be just a little more boring. I mean, I could be telling you about my vacation plans, right?
