10 August 2006

Late post today, I know. It was time to take Penny to the doctor for her annual checkup, and to make sure the few little mutant worrybrain things we were concerned about were, in fact, nothing to worry about. Which they weren't.

So, all in all, clean bill of health. Penny got two stickers and a sucker, and I got an updated medical form to give to daycare so she can keep going.

The next few days are going to be slightly crazy, it looks like.

I skipped Jazzercise last night to work late, because I knew I was coming in late this morning. Tonight is scrapbooking night. I'm hoping to make a good start on the summer bash pages for Karen and Jeff.

Tomorrow I have three documents going out the door for work. As of noon today, I haven't seen any of them yet. After work tomorrow, I have an appointment for hair removal, mostly because I didn't want to bother with shaving every day while I'm on vacation.

(Speaking of vacation, I'm having to completely re-plan my travel. I'd been hoping to do all my flying with carryon-only, so I wouldn't have to worry about lost luggage. But now it looks like I'm going to have to go the other way and check as much as humanly possible. Stupid terrorists. Don't they realize I'm trying to take a vacation, here?!)

Where was I...? Oh, yes. Saturday is Penny's birthday -- which has a whole host of attendant To-Do items, like baking a cake, shopping for drinks and snacks, assembling her main present (that'll probably be Matt's job), getting gift-bag goodies and possibly one more small present for Penny, decorating, clearing most of her toys out of the general party area, cleaning up... like that.

(Let us be clear: I am not presenting my daughter's birthday party as a hassle. I sincerely look forward to the party, and I enjoy baking, and I even like the shopping and decorating. Not so much the cleaning, but it's not that big a deal. So I'm not even remotely complaining. Just pointing out that it will consume a pretty significant amount of time.)

I also need to go to the bank at some point.

Sunday is the usual chores, plus, um... I was sure there was something, but I'm not sure what it was, now.

Monday morning, I have a dentist appointment, so I'll be late to work again. And then I'll be here for all of about half an hour before I have to leave for my chiropractor appointment. Monday evening we're doing dinner with friends. And I'll want to pack.

And get to bed early, if I can, because I need to be up at some obscene hour Tuesday morning.

To catch my flight. And go on vacation. And relax. Shut up, I will.
