Okay, here's the deal. I will not tell you about all the assorted disasters that befell our trip to Chicagoland today, and you will not complain that the entry is 90% pictures. Right? Right.
Penny was amazingly good. The mornings were a little rough, but usually by the time she'd had some breakfast, she was cute and cheerful and ready to play. She charmed everyone all to pieces. |
Grandpa Brooks and Grandma Deb, of course. Grandma Deb won many points with Penny by giving her a little beanie dog. It's Penny's newest favorite toy. |
Grandpa "Duck" (Penny's great-grandfather) obligingly drove her (and Matt and I by turns) around their yard in his golf cart, which she loved. |
She was amazingly well-behaved at the wedding. A few slices of apple and a handful of crackers kept her quiet enough for me to actually watch the wedding, and then she was mostly happy to visit with various relatives despite a two-hour-long dinner. |
She made friends with a little boy named Riley (who shared in her apples and crackers), and everyone agreed that together, they were in danger of being more adorable than the bride. |
