I'm not feeling very talkative this morning. I took Penny outside to play with Ray-Ray in the evening, instead of watching Sesame Street. Between the two of them, they must have hauled every single toy out of Melissa's garage, and scattered them all across the yard. (The scatter radius would have been further, but I insisted that Penny at least bring the toys back to the yard when she was done with them.) They had fun and shared surprisingly willingly and took turns and were adorable. Then Penny decided that she wanted to walk down to the neighborhood playground to get some lemonade. I tried to explain to her that they weren't having a picnic today, but she was having none of it, so we walked down there and she ran up and down the hill a few times instead. So. Daycare Hallowe'en party tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for us that Penny does not flip out or insist on just sitting in a corner eating a cupcake, shying away from anything like interaction with others. Grownup party tomorrow night. Matt and I are going to be crayons, a la this costume from several years ago, because our other reasonable idea fell through when I couldn't find any of the props we'd need. The whole middle of next week is already busy, too -- Hallowe'en and Matt's office gathering and scrapbooking. Which doesn't even count going to Jazzercise. One of the women in my office is talking about trying to put together a Ladies' Night -- getting together for drinks after work, I think -- but I expect I'm going to have to bow out. I can't believe it's the end of the month already. |
