Happy birthday, me! Penny was so eager to get downstairs and "help" me open presents this morning that she could barely talk. She brought me a package and gleefully helped rip paper off... and the, on the discovery that the gift (a very pretty travel alarm clock) was wrapped in bubble wrap, she more or less completely abandoned the whole gift-opening process to pop the bubbles. I also got a wind-up radio/flashlight (complete with cell phone charger attachments!), a Barnes and Noble gift card, and a Slanket. Matt rawks. And Alexis just came in to work and gave me the first season of Buffy on DVD. "'Cause I might want to borrow it," she says. I don't know if Alexis even knows about the wishlist, though, so there's the potential for duplicates... Ah, well. If I get duplicates, then I can exchange them for later seasons. Friends rawk. Plans for the day include going out to lunch -- about ten of us, which should be fun -- and then I'm going to leave work an hour or so early. I'm hoping for a nice, relaxing evening (though with Penny around, that's not precisely a given). We're doing the family party on Sunday, but I made cupcakes for Matt and Penny and I to have tonight. Actually, I'd meant to bring a bunch of them to work today (Matt and Penny and I really don't need to eat a whole batch of cupcakes by ourselves) but completely forgot them until I was pulling into my parking spot at work. Oh, well, I'll bring them tomorrow instead. Mmm. Cake. |
