This week's theme for picture of the week is The Country.

I try not to use pictures of Penny for this, but it seemed so appropriate... Lounging in the grass with a sundress and bare feet, picking dandelions... So very country.

And honestly, it's not my best composition, but it's not bad, either.

So... let's see.

K.T.'s current plot for the 7th Sea game is an amazing amount of fun. My character (characters, I guess, since I've taken over one of the NPCs for the duration) just jumped into a huge heap of trouble (big enough that we've been conducting it in private emails and it hasn't gone to the main list yet, whoo!) and I'm excited to see what comes of this little sub-plot.

I'm also loving everyone else's sub-plots, large and small. It's almost funny -- it's been observed that when you put on a mask, you're apt to act differently, that the mask frees you to do things you might not otherwise consider. Amusingly, it apparently works for fictional people, as well. The whole thing has been suspenseful and funny and K.T. is an amazing GM. I'm just putting that out there.

And more with the K.T. love: She ran a bunch of us through a WoW instance last night and that was awesome, too. Though I think I kind of cheated Karen out of a loot that should've been hers and I feel bad about it. But heck, K.T. said it was one of her favorite instances, so maybe we can do it again sometime or something.

Though it was a pretty big instance that took us like 3 hours to run, and I didn't get to bed until well after midnight. So I'm dragging a bit today. And I'm not likely to get to bed early tonight, either, since I'm going to see Tina 'n' Tony's Wedding with my mom. I'm going to pick her up around 5:30 or 6, which means we'll probably be a good hour early to the show, but traffic is so horrible and unpredictable that if we left half an hour later, we'd risk being late.

In theory, they will feed us as part of the show, but since it doesn't even start until 8 and I'm used to having dinner around 6:15, I think I'll grab a little something before we go.

(It occurred to me while I was making arrangements with Mom yesterday that today is her and Dad's anniversary. Which means he made boy scout plans for their anniversary. She apparently hadn't realized it until I said something, either. Maybe when I'm approaching 40 years with Matt, I'll feel the same way. But right now... Boy, would there be some trouble over that!)

Then tomorrow we're meeting the Hickses and a friend of theirs from Jess's weekly playgroup to go to the zoo. K.T. and I decided we'll have a picnic lunch before we actually go into the zoo, because they don't allow food in, and naturally all their stuff is horribly overpriced. And it'll give Penny and the other girl a chance to get comfortable with each other.

Whether we'll all be able to stay together once we're in the zoo is an excellent question. But I hope we do and that Penny has a good time.

Sunday... No plans. But you never know what will pop up.

Hope your weekend is as fun as mine promises to be!
